We are looking for people who have a desire to make a difference in how training is traditionally delivered, valued and want to make a difference.

If you have above average skills in Meat Processing we would love to hear from you.

Applicants should have excellent skills in processing systems or related disciplines. You will be able to follow established procedures but have innovative qualities and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Successful applicants must hold the following qualifications;

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Above. 
  • Certificate III / IV in Meat Processing
  • Certificate III / IV in Food Processing
  • Relevant Certificates

Additional Requirements;

  • Experienced and Competent Meat Processing Person
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Mircosoft Office – PowerPoint, Word & Excel
  • A thorough understanding of Export & Domestic requirements in Food Processing & ISO
  • Processing and Quality Assurance

Food & Meat Processing Positions

FGM Consultants are recruiting for Food & Meat Processing Facilities in the Dandenong and Cranbourne areas. A variety of positions are available with immediate starts for the right people.

Candidates with enthusiastic work attitude and willingness to learn, follow direction and able to work in a fast-paced environment are encouraged to apply.

About the Roles

  • Multiple Positions are available in various areas within the facility
  • Monday to Friday, day and afternoon shifts available
  • Competitive starting hourly rates on offer for successful candidates
  • Your own transport is desirable, public transport is available at some sites

Duties and Responsibilities may include

  • General meat processing labouring work including cutting, slicing and trimming.
  • Using simple machinery
  • Pick/packing, weighing, vacuum sealing and boxing products
  • Handling livestock
  • Warehouse operations / Forklift positions
  • Working independently and as part of a team to complete set tasks
  • Maintaining and clean working area and personal protective equipment
  • Adhering to set OH&S rules and regulations

Skills and Experiences

Knife skills and or experience within the meat industry will be highly regarded.

The roles require a degree of physical fitness and strength and commitment to teamwork. Candidates should possess a positive working attitude and not be afraid to get their hands dirty.

March 2022 -Employment Engagement Officer

FGM Consultants are wanting to engage a EEO to assist in servicing our Jobs Victoria Program across the regions of Gippsland, South Eastern Metro & Peninsula, Barwon and Loddon Campaspe.
The position will be engaged to drive placement and 26-week employment outcomes for jobseekers placed at employers within our employer network across above mentioned regions.

Role Overview
Employers:
• Cold Calling Employers and arranging face to face meeting to enlarge on the Jobs Victoria Program.
• Identify and document employers potential staff needs. Identify and document job roles, descriptions, hours of work, pay rates or wage agreements, any issues about worksite health and welfare requirements, transport requirements or identify transport issues, if public transport what are the timetables, closest bus stop number and route. Do they have a canteen on site or how far are shops?
• Attend Employer Forums in each area and market the program.
• Service existing employer network using IEEO specialist knowledge as required.

Jobseekers (Candidates):
• Identify candidates to fill the potential vacancies. This means if your able to identify a ‘best fit’ for an employer. The clear purpose is to rapidly move candidates through the program into employment, not keep candidates engaged in unrelated work readiness programs. Placing candidates ASAP.
• Addition of personality/career testing for jobseekers to assist in job placement
• Expert input and delivery of candidate work readiness programs.

JVES Registration Process:
• Complete JVES / FGM Client Registration Process
• Complete FGM Candidate Assessment Evaluation – This assessment will assist in the determination of what assistance the client will need to be work ready in the shortest possible time frame.
• Schedule FGM programs to assist.
• Contact Employer to keep them engaged as to recruitment process
• Co-ordinate Client Support: Medicals, Transport etc.

Candidate Support Services:
• Solidify and grow existing networks
• Expand support networks in current regions and assist in developing support networks and referrals services available in other regions.

• Agree on catch up times and dates, agree on open access to discuss issues and support text messaging. What support frequency is required over the next 7-14 days and then 14-30 days etc.

Presenter / Trainer and Coaching Skills:
• Deliver the FGM Pre-Employment Programs that are Short Employer Focused Programs

• Self-starter
• A team player who shows initiative and a willingness to support team members
• A person who enjoys a challenge, is flexible and organised
• Solutions-focused in a service delivery environment

Basic Requirements
• Previous experience delivering similar services
• Experience working with jobseekers and identifying transferrable skills, support service skills.
• Respected member with existing network into the community
• Full License and access to vehicle
• Excellent Communication, written and presentation skills
• Excellent ‘IT’ Skills email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Excellent Multi Functioning Co-ordination Skills to balance a number of clients across several areas
• Reporting and Accountability of the program
